Instagram is the epicenter for talent, the social media platform is source of many creatives of all mediums. One of those talented creatives is Photographer Jas Gold. This week we took some time to ask Jas some questions about himself and his creative skill set.
1. Tell us a little about yourself?
My legal name is Jas Gold, a shorter version of my birth name. I’m 27 years old and live in Phoenix, Arizona. I attend the Art Institute of Phoenix and I’m pursuing my Bachelors in Graphic Design. I originally started photography in the winter 2007 but lost interest quick and gave up. I picked up a camera again in the summer of 2014 and haven’t put one down since then. I started shooting cars and then eventually moved into portraiture.

2. What is your current camera setup?
I currently shoot with a Sony A7ii and my go to lenses are the Zeiss 35 1.4 and Zeiss 55 1.8
3. What are some of your most obtainable aspirations?
Id like to travel the world and shoot, shoot everything; people, places, & scenery. I just want to travel and shoot.
When it comes to the aesthetic and sense of maintaining a certain style to his photos, Jas believes he doesn’t have any particular “style”. He also thinks not having a specific style best fits him because he is always challenging himself and trying new techniques every time he shoots.
We asked Jas, Who or what is your source of inspiration?
Here’s what he told us: Much of my inspiration comes from a creative standpoint. I find inspiration in art such as paintings, it can be the color scheme, environment or concept. I get a ‘lot of inspiration from music as well whether it’s the rhythm or lyrics, sometimes I can just “see” images in the music .
Jas knows he isn’t the most talented photographer out there but that doesn’t seem to stop him from growing or mastering his craft. He gets a lot out of helping others explore their interest in photography and likes to see people grow with their passion. Jas says: “Its a good feeling when you can inspire somebody to take up a new hobby or even to get out and shoot.”
Lets take a looks at some of Jas’ work
