We had a little interview with Justin States, this kid has pure potential and I wouldn’t be surprised if he blows up within the next year. Here is what he had to say.
Where are you originally from?
I was born and raised in the suburbs of Sacramento, California. Antelope and Roseville were the two main towns I grew up in, but like anybody growing up in Sacramento I have a deep connection to the Bay Area.
How old are you?
I’m currently 20, turning 21 in a few months.
How long have you been into Photography?
I’ve only been into photography for about two and a half months now. Best decision of my life.
What kind of camera do you use?
I use a Canon t5i with the 50mm f1.8 as my go to lens, but I’m looking to upgrade to the Canon 5D mk III in the next couple months when the prices drop a little more.
What made you get into photography?
I guess being apart of and working for Eazyseason.com definitely brought me into the world of photography. My friends Danielle Ellis and Chris Maldonado who started and maintained Eazy Season for the last year definitely helped guide me and inspire me to get into this craft. Also being at G Eazy’s shows and being around in my opinion some of the best concert photographers in the world like Grady Brannan, Bobby Bruderle, etc. was definitely a huge inspiration also. I originally bought my camera as a tool to providing any form of content to the website, but photography has been definitely the thing that has stuck with me so far.
Any photographers you look up to?
Grady Brannan is definitely one I idolize and look up to. The way he captures the moment, his composition, and color grading are incredible. A few others I look up to definitely have to be Dusty Kessler, Bobby Bruderle, and Jason Peterson.
